Icekits first time out of the nursery

Icekit woke up to the familiar smells of the nursery,where she was nuzzled against her mother Rainstorms belly.Icekit got up and pawed Rainstorm to get her to wake up,then she mewed"Mommy!Can I go outside?!Mommy!Wake up!"

Rainstorm nudged Icekit aside gently, "Okay. Come on, Icekit"

Rainstorm padded over to the entrance of the nursery and flicked her tail. She could already smell the fresh air from outside and was eager to get out herself. There was nothing better that being outside on such a fine, warm day.

Icekit squealed happily and then she ran out of the den."Woah!"Icekit mewed excitedely.Icekit looked down and saw green fur."Mom what is this?"Icekit pawed at the green fur playfully.

Rainstorm sat down with a chuckle. "That's moss, Icekit"
She rolled up the moss into a ball and tossed it at Icekit, "See?"

Sighing, Rainstorm looked around. What she wouldn't do to be out in the forest today, hunting. It was such a fine day, and a cool breeze blew through the camp, ruffling her fur. Then she looked down at Icekit. Of course, kits came first before anything else.

Icekit jumped up and missed the mossball."I'll get it!"Icekit mewed and ran after the ball stopping it right as it was about to leave camp,and brought it back to Rainstorm,and batted at it.Then she stopped when her stomach growled and meowed"Mommy!I'm hungry."Then she meowed"Can we eat somthing?"

"Of course. Come over here" Rainstorm mewed. She padded over to the fresh-kill pile and, noticing that it was miserably low, took a small thrush off the pile. She chewed up some of the thrush and set it aside for Icekit. "Here, try this."

Icekit dropped the moss ball and ran to Rainstorm,and then she took a small bite of the thrush and meowed"ummm.Its good!"She took another bite hungrily.

Rainstorm smiled and chewed on another bite of the thrush. Her kit was growing up fast, though she was still young. She squinted at the sun, wondering what time of day it was.

Icekit took another bite of the thrush,then ran over to the nursery,but noticed no kits in there."Mommy?Where is everyone?"

Rainstorm smiled and shrugged. "I don't know. Do you want to go look for them?"

"Yes!"Icekit meowed and started running around camp,but still could'nt find any.

Rainstorm padded over to the elders' den. " Let's look in here, Icekit." She disappeared inside

Icekit nodded and ran over to Rainstorm in the elders den."Mommy,where is everyone?" maybe there all out doing somthing fun without us! Icekit grumbled to herself when she thought about them all having fun without her and Rainstorm.

"They're not in here?" Rainstorm paused to think. "Let's try the apprentices' den next"
She padded over to a den next to a blue pine and peeked inside.
